Basketball Recap: Palmer Comes Up Short

Palmer played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Nebraska Christian Eagles, falling 66-39. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-10.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lane Mottl, who went 6-for-11 en route to 15 points. The dominant performance also gave Mottl a new career-high in shooting accuracy (55%). Taylor Kurz was another key player, putting up nine points and five boards.

Oliver Herman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Nebraska Christian, going 10-for-21 to rack up 25 points and eight rebounds. Herman's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 20 points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Rexilius, who posted ten points.

Palmer has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. Nebraska Christian's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-15.

Palmer has already played their next game, a 71-34 loss against Fullerton on the 21st. As for Nebraska Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 74-59 win against Omaha Christian Academy on the 21st.
