Softball Recap: Academy of American Studies Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Academy of American Studies had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Maspeth Argos. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-1 on April 2nd.

Academy of American Studies pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Maspeth, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academy of American Studies will venture away from home to take on The Baccalaureate School for Global Education at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Maspeth, they will head out to challenge Long Island City at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.86 runs per game on average), something the Argos will no doubt try to take advantage of.
