Football Recap: Bishop McCort Crushers vs. Central Cambria Red Devils
Bishop McCort had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They pulled ahead with a 28-27 photo finish over the Central Cambria Red Devils. For the Crushers, this counts as revenge for the 15-10 loss the Red Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2023.
Jon Delia went supernova for Bishop McCort, rushing for 102 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Bishop McCort also got a significant boost from Bentley Bainey, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 86 yards.

Perhaps the best among those players was Grady Snyder, who picked up 70 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 122 yards while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Snyder didn't just play on offense: he also made seven total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defended a pass which he returned for a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Hunter Pittsinger, who threw for 156 yards and three touchdowns.
