Basketball Recap: Raymond/South Bend Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Aaron Somero and Chris Quintana

Raymond/South Bend was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 57-40 bruising from the Montesano Bulldogs.

Chris Quintana and Aaron Somero certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Quintana went 5 for 12 on his way to 12 points and four steals, while Somero posted eight points and seven rebounds. Carson Ridderbush was another key player, putting up nine points.

Raymond/South Bend's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Montesano, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-6.

Raymond/South Bend won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Forks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Forks will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Raymond/South Bend surely won't give up without a fight. As for Montesano, they will challenge Hoquiam at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Montesano's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
