Riverheads had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They skirted past the Strasburg Rams 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Gladiators in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won five in a row.

Strasburg's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Riverheads and Strasburg will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Gladiators will square off against rival Rockbridge County at 7:20 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Strasburg is set to face off against their familiar foe Madison County at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
