Baseball Recap: Edgemont Find Success

Edgemont's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Bronxville Broncos by a score of 10-5. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Panthers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Jacob Naya made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Naya was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

Naya wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ammaar Shariff, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Edgemont's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Bronxville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Edgemont will face off against Hastings at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bronxville will be paying especially close attention to the Panthers' contest: after the Panthers faces off against the Yellow Jackets, they'll take on Bronxville again at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
