Basketball Game Preview: Danbury Lakers vs. St. Mary Central Catholic Panthers

Danbury and St. Mary Central Catholic are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Danbury Lakers will be playing at home against the St. Mary Central Catholic Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Mary Central Catholic took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Danbury, who comes in off a win.

Danbury is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past St. Joseph Central Catholic 78-25 on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lakers as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, St. Mary Central Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 63-47 to Woodmore. The Panthers were down 49-29 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

St. Mary Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Danbury, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-15.

Danbury was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Mary Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in January, winning 73-65. Will Danbury repeat their success, or does St. Mary Central Catholic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
