Basketball Recap: Peoria Comes Up Short

Peoria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 56-39 to the Cactus Cobras. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Cactus was led to victory by Xavier Ledet and Dominic Duran. Ledet posted 14 points in addition to five assists and five steals, while Duran went 7 of 12 en route to 18 points. The dominant performance gave Ledet a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Browen, who earned four points and eight rebounds.

Peoria's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Cactus, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12.

Peoria will be playing in front of their home fans against Estrella Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Estrella Foothills' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. As for Cactus, they will challenge Deer Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cactus is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.6 points per game this season.
