Soccer Game Preview: Rivera vs. Mercedes

The Rivera Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Mercedes Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Rivera is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Porter on Friday. Rivera took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Porter.

Meanwhile, Mercedes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Edcouch-Elsa, falling 5-0.

Mercedes' loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Rivera, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2-1.

Rivera came out on top in a nail-biter against Mercedes when the teams last played back in January of 2018, sneaking past 1-0. Will Rivera repeat their success, or does Mercedes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
