Basketball Recap: Seven Straight Home Wins for Union Local

Union Local extended their home winning streak to seven games thanks to a huge performance from Billy Schumacher. The Union Local Jets came out on top against the Beaver Local Beavers by a score of 66-55 on Friday thanks in part to Schumacher, who went 10 for 13 to rack up 22 points and six rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games he's played.

Dre Saunders was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 12 points and nine assists. That's the most assists he has posted since back in February of 2024.

Union Local is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Beaver Local, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union Local will face off against Wheeling Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Union Local is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.8 points per game this season. As for Beaver Local, they will square off against East Liverpool at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Liverpool knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Beaver Local likes a good challenge.
