Softball Recap: Tamaqua's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak at Home

Tamaqua had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Jim Thorpe on Wednesday. The Tamaqua Blue Raiders blew past the Jim Thorpe Olympians 10-1. The Blue Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Olympians, too.

Ceanna Gormley made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Gormley was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Addison Krall was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. Nico Conahan was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Tamaqua's win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tamaqua will head out to take on Hamburg at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Jim Thorpe, they will take on Mahanoy Area at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
