Volleyball Recap: Freeport Falls Short of Streamwood in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Freeport can now relate to. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Streamwood Sabres on Monday. The Pretzels just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Sam Viveros paced Freeport's offense, picking up five kills. Viveros got some help from Bryce Mcdanel and his seven assists.

Leading Streamwood to victory were Heewon Yang and John Garcia. Yang had eight digs and two aces, while Garcia had 20 assists and eight digs. That's the most aces Yang has posted since back in April.

Freeport's loss dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Streamwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season.

Freeport does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Streamwood, they will square off against Boylan Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
