Soccer Game Preview: Bear Creek vs. Dakota Ridge

The Bear Creek Bears will challenge the Dakota Ridge Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Bear Creek has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Dakota Ridge will arrive with three straight victories.

On Thursday, Bear Creek didn't have quite enough to beat Littleton and fell 2-1. Sadie Staib was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on her (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

Meanwhile, Dakota Ridge kept a clean sheet against Pomona on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Panthers. Considering Dakota Ridge have won six matchups by more than three goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Pomona from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Ava Arnold led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Dakota Ridge pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. As for Bear Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9-1.

Bear Creek couldn't quite get it done against Dakota Ridge when the teams last played back in April of 2019 as they fell 2-0. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
