Solvay and Phoenix are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Bearcats will challenge the Firebirds at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Solvay's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Phoenix's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

If Solvay beats Phoenix with four runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Bearcats beat Westhill on Monday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-3. While the Bearcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Phoenix hadn't done well against Westhill recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Firebirds came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 5-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Firebirds.

Solvay's record is now 4-1. As for Phoenix, their record now sits at 2-0.

Solvay suffered a grim 12-6 defeat to Phoenix in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Bearcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
