Softball Recap: Southeast Seminoles vs. North Port Bobcats
Southeast had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 0-6 to make it seven. They lost 18-0 to the North Port Bobcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Seminoles of the 10-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2017.
As for North Port, their record now sits at 3-6. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For North Port's part, Austin Smiley looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lauren Boff, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. Hailey Perez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Coming up, Southeast will welcome Palmetto at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Port, they will venture away from home to square off against Fort Myers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
