Baseball Recap: Oratory Prep Has No Trouble Against Union Catholic

Oratory Prep extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 5-3 in the process. They came out on top against the Union Catholic Vikings by a score of 6-2. That looming 6-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Rams yet this season.

Caden Breault made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Breault was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brendan Keown, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That run marked the first that he has scored this season. Blake Duddy was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Oratory Prep hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Union Catholic struck out nine times.

As for Union Catholic, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-3. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Union Catholic's side, Brian McCabe was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI.
