Soccer Game Preview: West Plains vs. Decatur

The West Plains Wolves will take on the Decatur Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, West Plains made easy work of Canyon and carried off a 6-1 victory. Considering Wolves have won seven matchups by more than three goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Canyon with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Benjamin Williamson (3), Jaiden Cervantes, Christopher Navarrete, and Sahil Patel.

Meanwhile, Decatur put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their undefeated season alive. They walked away with a 4-2 win over Ranchview. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 64th, while Wolves are ranked 450th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Decatur's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-0-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 55 goals over those 11 games. As for West Plains, their win bumped their record up to 14-5-2.
