Jackson Prep is a perfect 3-0 against Florence since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Patriots will head out to challenge the Eagles at 6:00 p.m.

Jackson Prep is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Mississippi's top teams: Hartfield Academy, who was ranked 17th at the time (Jackson Prep was ranked 15th). The Patriots fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 1-0 on Friday. Jackson Prep's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Florence). They put the hurt on Cleveland Central with a sharp 7-1 win on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Florence considering their one-goal performance the matchup before.

Jackson Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 12-3-3. As for Florence, they now have a winning record of 7-6-1.

Jackson Prep got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in December of 2020 against Florence by a conclusive 5-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
