Volleyball Recap: Schurr Takes a Loss

If Schurr was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Alhambra on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans fell just short of the Bell Gardens Lancers by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Lancers: they've now lost three in a row.

Schurr wouldn't go down easily and took Bell Gardens into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking 11-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-13, 14-25, 23-25, 15-4.

Schurr's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Bell Gardens, they pushed their record up to 12-8 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.
