Football Game Preview: Axtell vs. Doniphan West

If the MaxPreps national rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Axtell. On Friday they will take on Doniphan West at 7:00 PM. Doniphan West will need to watch out since Axtell have now posted big point totals in their last seven contests.

Last Friday, Axtell put the finishing touches on their 6th blowout victory of the season. Everything came up roses for them against Frankfort as the squad secured a 76-28 win. No one put up better numbers for Axtell than junior Quinn Buessing, who brought his A game into the match. He passed for 321 yards and 5 touchdowns. Buessing has been a consistent playmaker for Axtell as this was the 7th good game in a row from him.

After a string of three wins, Doniphan West's good fortune finally ran out. They have to be aching after a bruising 12-36 loss to Blue Valley.

Axtell's victory lifted them to 6-1 while Doniphan West's defeat dropped them down to 3-4. We'll find out if Axtell can add another positive mark to their record or if Doniphan West can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Axtell's step.
