Baseball Game Preview: Lutheran South Lancers vs. Vianney Golden Griffins

The Lutheran South Lancers are taking a road trip to face off against the Vianney Golden Griffins at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Lutheran South has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight defeats, while Vianney will come in with 11 straight wins.

Lutheran South's last matchup with Westminster Christian could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Wednesday. The Lancers came up short against the Wildcats, falling 12-1. The contest marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Vianney never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on Chaminade with a sharp 13-0 victory. Considering the Golden Griffins have won six games by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Vianney's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Lutheran South, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3-1.
