Football Game Preview: Union Grove Lions vs. Ore City Rebels

The Union Grove Lions will head out to face off against the Ore City Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Union Grove's last matchup with Elysian Fields could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Friday. The Lions were outmatched by the Yellowjackets and fell 49-22. The Lions were down 35-15 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Although Union Grove took the loss, they still got scores from Konner Long, Hudson Wightman, and Wrigley Roberts.

Meanwhile, Ore City had to suffer through a 50-20 loss at the hands of Hawkins. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Union Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Ore City, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Everything came up roses for Union Grove against Ore City in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 45-14 victory. In that matchup, the Lions amassed a halftime lead of 35-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
