After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matchups, Yuma Catholic finally came back down to earth on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Imperial Tigers by a score of 2-1. The Shamrocks' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Cherish Trujillo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits.

At the plate, Yuma Catholic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Faith Donley, who went 2-for-3 with one triple.

Yuma Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Imperial, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-3.

Looking ahead, Yuma Catholic will head out on the road to take on Highland Prep at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Honey Badgers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.29 runs per game on average), something the Shamrocks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Imperial, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Palo Verde Valley at 6:30 p.m.
