Baseball Game Preview: Clarion-Limestone Lions vs. Keystone Panthers

Clarion-Limestone is a perfect 10-0 against Keystone since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Lions will host the Panthers at 4:15 p.m. Clarion-Limestone will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Clarion-Limestone took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They walked away with a 7-2 win over Brockway.

Kohen Kemmer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Kemmer was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jesse Siwiecki was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Aiden Coulson, who scored a run.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Keystone challenged Clarion Area on Saturday. The Panthers lost 14-2 to the Bobcats. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost six in a row.

Keystone saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Tharan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Talon Wilson was another, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Keystone's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Clarion-Limestone, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Clarion-Limestone took their win against Keystone in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-0 score. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
