Basketball Recap: Stanwood Comes Up Short

Stanwood played a tough match on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Arlington Eagles and fell 66-38. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the loss, Stanwood still got an impressive performance from Cole Thorson, who went 7 for 15 on his way to 17 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Brennan, who posted five points and five boards.

Stanwood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Arlington, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Stanwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-55 loss against Marysville Getchell on the 3rd. As for Arlington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 80-55 defeat against Shorecrest on the 2nd.
