Softball Recap: Bradley-Bourbonnais Finds Playoff Glory Versus Edwardsville

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Bradley-Bourbonnais had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against the Edwardsville Tigers by a score of 6-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Boilermakers, who have now won four games in a row.

Lydia Hammond spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Suttyn Hop was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Pusateri, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.

Bradley-Bourbonnais' win bumped their record up to 22-12. As for Edwardsville, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 26-9.

As of now, neither Bradley-Bourbonnais nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
