Big Rapids dropped their record down to 4-2 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 10-0 to the Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants. The game marked the first time this season in which the Cardinals were not able to get on the board.

As for Kalamazoo Central, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6. They not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since March 26th (when they won 15-0).

For Kalamazoo Central's part, the result came thanks to Mason Hoenle's shutout, as he gave up just a hit. Hoenle also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Maroon Giants are 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Colin Hoenle was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one triple. Another player making a difference was Joey Spada, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Big Rapids wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-11 loss against Oxford on the 19th. Hopefully Kalamazoo Central paid attention to the Cardinals' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Cardinals at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
