Baseball Recap: Friendship Christian Takes a Loss

Friendship Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 8-2 to the Goodpasture Christian Cougars. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 16, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Caleb Brown was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Caleb Kring was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Friendship Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 14-14-1. As for Goodpasture Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-10 record this season.

Friendship Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Goodpasture Christian, they are taking a road trip to challenge Columbia Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 3.7, the Bulldogs 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
