 Woodcreek and Granite Bay are an even 5-5 against one another  since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Woodcreek Timberwolves will take on the Granite Bay Grizzlies at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
 Woodcreek is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  team sidled past West Park  3-2. Three seems to be a good number for Woodcreek as the  squad scooped up a  win with the same number of  runs in their previous game.
  Mason Ferris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on five hits.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Dylan Green, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of  Conner Barth, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
 Meanwhile,  it was close, but  on Thursday Granite Bay sidestepped Jesuit for  a  3-2 victory. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for Granite Bay.
 Granite Bay also got a great performance from  Jack Ghufran as he  struck out six batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned run off   five  hits (and only one walk). Ghufran has been consistent recently: he hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in five consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate,  Jace Bystrowski was  excellent,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
 Woodcreek is  on a roll lately: they've  won 16 of their last 19 contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record  this season. As for Granite Bay, their win bumped their record up to an identical 21-9.
 Woodcreek came out on top in a nail-biter against Granite Bay  when the teams last played  back in March, sneaking past  4-3. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was  Granite Bay's  Peter Caldera, who   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits.
