Football Recap: Seaside Takes a Loss

Seaside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Ann Sobrato Bulldogs, falling 35-4. The Spartans were down 28-2 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Brayden Hughes was nothing short of spectacular for Ann Sobrato: he threw for 223 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 69 yards. Those 69 rushing yards gave Hughes a new career-high.

Seaside's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Ann Sobrato, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Seaside wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 42-21 loss against Archie Williams on the 20th. As for Ann Sobrato, they have also already played their next game, a 56-27 defeat against Branham on the 19th.
