Valley Christian came into Thursday's contest looking for another win against Legacy Academy, but James Bartek wouldn't allow it. The Legacy Academy Warriors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-52 victory over the Valley Christian River Hawks on Thursday thanks in part to Bartek, who went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points. Those 24 points gave him a new career-high.

Another player making a difference was Ozzy Toledano, who posted six points and five boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played.

Several River Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chase Rambo, who put up 18 points. Rambo continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Luke St.Clair was another key player, putting up ten points.

The win (which was Legacy Academy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-19. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Valley Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

Legacy Academy has already played their next match, a 62-52 loss against Christian Ministries Academy on the 7th. As for Valley Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-48 defeat against Stephens on the 7th.
