Baseball Game Preview: Hargrave Military Academy Tigers vs. North Cross Raiders

Hargrave Military Academy hasn't had much luck against North Cross recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Hargrave Military Academy will face off against North Cross at 5:00 p.m.

Hargrave Military Academy fell victim to Life Christian Academy and their airtight pitching crew two weeks ago. They lost 10-0 to the Eagles. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Tigers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, North Cross posted their closest victory since May 3, 2024 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over Amelia Academy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Tristan Lange made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out 14 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Lange was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Chase Shannon was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two).

The victory got North Cross back to even at 2-2. As for Hargrave Military Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Hargrave Military Academy suffered a grim 10-4 defeat to North Cross when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Hargrave Military Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
