Basketball Recap: Hardin-Jefferson Hawks vs. La Vega Pirates
Hardin-Jefferson and La Vega squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Hardin-Jefferson had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the La Vega Pirates and fell 61-29. La Vega got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was CeMaria Kelly out in front who posted 13 points and seven rebounds. Kelly continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cra'Lajah Bradley, who had 12 points in addition to five boards and four steals.
Hardin-Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 20-13. As for La Vega, they are on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 22 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 30-6 record this season.
