Recap: Eureka Loggers vs. Petaluma Trojans
The Eureka Loggers lost against the Petaluma Trojans back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Eureka received a tough blow as they fell 66-51 to Petaluma. While losing is never fun, Eureka can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 306th, while Petaluma is ranked 60th).
Eureka's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trenton Gerber, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Estrada, who scored 11 points.
Eureka's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Petaluma, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Eureka will square off against De Anza at 5:39 p.m. on Friday. As for Petaluma, they will face off against Pinole Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
