The Pullman Greyhounds will square off against the Lakeside Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lakeside will be up against a hot Pullman team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Everything went the Greyhounds' way against Rogers on Friday as they made off with a 17-2 win. That looming 17-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Greyhounds yet this season.
Will Denney was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Joshua Ratliff, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one run.
Pullman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .591. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Ten must be Lakeside's lucky number: they beat Bonners Ferry with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Eagles didn't even let the Badgers on the board, marking the Eagles' second-straight 10-0 shutout.
Drake Wood made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Wood was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kannon Almond, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Nicholas Hernandez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.
Lakeside's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Pullman, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Pullman's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's game. The Greyhounds have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Lakeside, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Pullman continue to outrun the ball?
Pullman couldn't quite finish off Lakeside in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 and fell 13-11. Will the Greyhounds have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
