Basketball Recap: Arickaree Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Lone Star came into Tuesday's game looking for another win against Arickaree, but Jake King wouldn't allow it. The Arickaree Bison put the hurt on the Lone Star Longhorns with a sharp 50-30 win on Tuesday thanks in part to King, who posted 23 points in addition to six boards and five steals. He has become a key player for Arickaree: the team is 7-2 when he posts at least five steals, but 1-2 otherwise.

Bradley Hermes was another key player, putting up five points and five steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

Lone Star's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anderson Weathers, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 14 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Grant Kuntz, who had five points along with 11 rebounds and eight assists.

Arickaree's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.8 points. As for Lone Star, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-5.

Arickaree has already played their next match, a 59-46 loss against Byers on the 30th. As for Lone Star, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-40 defeat against Caliche on the 3rd.
