Basketball Recap: Renton Red Hawks vs. Evergreen Wolverines

The Renton Red Hawks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They claimed a resounding 104-67 win over Evergreen at home. Renton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 28 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Dennis Johnson III, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Marques Ili-Meneese was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Evergreen lost, one person who can't be blamed is Matthew Fiso. Despite the final result, he scored 26 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leebaan Sami, who scored 13 points.

The win (which was Renton's fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 84.3 points per game. As for Evergreen, they dropped their record down to 8-9 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Renton will face off against the Pirates at 8:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Highline focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Friday. As for Evergreen, they will head out on the road to challenge the RedHawks at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Sammamish's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine contests.
