Abundant Life Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 678th, while the Patriots are ranked 298th).
Last Thursday, Abundant Life Christian Academy had to suffer through a rough 68-32 loss at the hands of the Eagles. Abundant Life Christian Academy was down 50-28 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Luis Vazquez put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. It was the first time this season that he posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Capote, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Victory Christian Academy can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Monday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 69-35 win over Shining Light Baptist Academy. The win made it back-to-back wins for Victory Christian Academy.
Victory Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Rayfield, who scored 17 points. It was the first time this season that Rayfield scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Thompson, who scored 16 points.
Abundant Life Christian Academy's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Victory Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
Abundant Life Christian Academy was dealt a bruising 88-29 loss at the hands of the Patriots when the teams last played last Friday. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Abundant Life Christian Academy was down 48-9.
