Volleyball Recap: Thunderbird Extends Winning Streak to Four

Thunderbird entered their tilt with Paradise Honors on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 3-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Titans also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Thunderbird had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-23, 25-21, 26-24.

Sophia Frandsen paced Thunderbird's offense, picking up 19 kills. Frandsen got some help from Cecelia Bouchard and her 31 assists. Bouchard was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

When it comes to explaining why Paradise Honors lost, don't look at Isabella Staudinger-Hughes. Despite the final result, she had 20 digs and five assists.

The win got Thunderbird back to even at 11-11. As for Paradise Honors, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 21-12 record.

Coincidentally, Thunderbird and Paradise Honors will both be playing Shadow Mountain the next time they take the court. The Panthers will head out to face the Matadors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Titans will host them at 6:00 p.m. on the 13th.
