It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Pickens ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Travelers Rest Devildogs 7-6. The victory was familiar territory for the Blue Flame, who have now won eight matches in a row.

Sophie Duzan spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Kaylee Bolding was excellent, going 2-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Pickens pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Travelers Rest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-12.

As of now, neither Pickens nor the Devildogs have any future games scheduled.
