Football Game Preview: Fergus Golden Eagles vs. Havre Blue Ponies + How To Watch

The Fergus Golden Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Havre Blue Ponies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Fergus put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 59-16 win over Browning. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-8.

Fergus' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Chaz Walsh, who gained 153 total yards, and Madden Norslien, who threw for 184 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes. The dominant performance also gave Walsh a new career-high in rushing yards (111).

Meanwhile, Havre waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 64-7 victory over the Rangers. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Blue Ponies' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Montana football rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Rangers are ranked 67th).

Fergus better keep an eye on Griffin Terry. He was instrumental in Havre's win, throwing for 64 yards and a pair of TDs.

Fergus' record is now 4-1. As for Havre, their record now sits at 3-1.

Fergus didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Havre in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 31-27 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Blue Ponies' Tate Nelson, who rushed for 194 yards and one score, and also picked up 43 receiving yards. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Golden Eagles to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
