Soccer Game Preview: Kodiak vs. Wasilla

The Kodiak Bears will venture away from home to challenge the Wasilla Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Kodiak's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Kodiak is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Houston, who was ranked 19th at the time (Kodiak was ranked 22nd). The Bears lost 9-0 to the Hawks on Friday.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Wasilla was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They fell just short of Service by a score of 1-0.

Wasilla's loss dropped their record down to 9-5-3. As for Kodiak, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-1.

Kodiak might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from Wasilla in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
