Basketball Recap: Louisville Finds Home Court Redemption Against Brownell Talbot

There's no place like home for Louisville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 46-39 victory over the Brownell Talbot Raiders on Saturday. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Raiders, too.

When it comes to explaining why Brownell Talbot lost, don't look at Abbi Gibbs. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Gibbs is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 16 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Nichols, who posted five points in addition to 11 rebounds and six steals.

Louisville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Brownell Talbot, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Louisville and Nebraska City will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 3:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Brownell Talbot and Concordia will round out the year against one another at at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
