Preview: Hortonville Polar Bears vs. Fond du Lac Cardinals
Hortonville has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Fond du Lac Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Hortonville's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Even though Hortonville has not done well against Kimberly recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Hortonville enjoyed a cozy 67-51 victory over Kimberly.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hortonville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Riley Mueller, who scored 25 points. The game was Mueller's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Joling, who scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Fond du Lac's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 47-37 to Neenah.
Their wins bumped Hortonville to 3-1 and Kimberly to 1-1.
Hortonville came up short against Fond du Lac in their previous meeting back in February, falling 63-58. Can Hortonville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
