Whitney Young extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping their season record up to 11-7-1 in the process. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Niles North Vikings, sneaking past 2-0. Surprisingly, this marked the Dolphins' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

The result came thanks to Liani Delgado's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Itzel Jaime, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since April 3rd. Another player making a difference was Chiqui Vazquez, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.

As for Niles North, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since May 1, 2024.

On Niles North's side, Lucy Hibicke spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

Whitney Young has already played their next matchup (against Curie), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Niles North, they have also already played their next game, an 8-5 victory against Lincoln Park on the 26th.
