Softball Recap: Big Sandy Comes Up Short

Big Sandy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the LaPoynor Flyers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Flyers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 on Friday.

Big Sandy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for LaPoynor, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Big Sandy will head out on the road to take on Cumby at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cumby has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.75 runs per game on average), something Big Sandy will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for LaPoynor, they will face off against Cayuga at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. LaPoynor's pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so Cayuga's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
