Leake Central proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 21) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Kosciusko Whippets 76-73. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Gators have posted since November 8th.

Kosciusko lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Josh Cole, who posted 18 points along with seven boards and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Cory Guyton Jr was another key player, going 8-for-18 to rack up 21 points.

Leake Central pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points over those games. As for Kosciusko, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.

Leake Central will take on Murrah in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kosciusko, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 84-52 win against East Webster on the 13th.
