Recap: Elmwood-Murdock Knights vs. Mead Raiders
The Elmwood-Murdock Knights can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 51-10 victory over Mead on the road. Winning may never get old, but Elmwood-Murdock sure is getting used to it with their 14th in a row.
Tatum Backemeyer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points along with four steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Annie Backemeyer, who scored ten points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Mead struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Elmwood-Murdock racked up 15 assists.
Elmwood-Murdock pushed their record up to 20-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Mead, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-20.
Elmwood-Murdock will be playing at home against Cornerstone Christian School at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Elmwood-Murdock focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Thursday. As for Mead, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Omaha Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Mead comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last nine games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
