Basketball Recap: Keystone Takes a Loss

Keystone was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Central Texas Christian Lions, falling 43-13.

Central Texas Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ellie Maurer, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, Maurer is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Brynlee Richardson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards.

Keystone's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Central Texas Christian, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-6.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Faith Academy the next time they take the court. Central Texas Christian will host Faith Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Keystone will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
