Football Game Preview: Herriman Mustangs vs. Weber Warriors + Official Tickets

Two dominant backs in Felisi Felipe and DYSON PARKER are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. After each having a week off, the Herriman Mustangs and the Weber Warriors will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Weber took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Herriman, who comes in off a win.

Herriman is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Cedar Valley: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Mustangs blew the Aviators out of the water with a 56-6 final score. Considering the Mustangs have won seven games by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Tyler Messer produced another solid effort rushing for 76 yards and one touchdown on only six carries, while also throwing for 90 yards and one TD.

Herriman didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut MacRae Parker. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Weber faced Davis in a battle between two of the state's top teams two weeks ago. The Warriors came up short against the Darts, falling 41-20. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Despite the loss, Weber saw an underclassman step up: sophomore PARKER rushed for 145 yards and one score, and also caught one touchdown.

Herriman's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.4 points on average over those games. As for Weber, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5.
